Privacy Policy

GamingVault is operated by an individual based in the State of Florida, United States. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at gamingvidssupport@gmail.com.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and, if you sign in with Google, Discord, or Twitch, basic profile details (name, username, profile image) from that provider.
• Profile information. Information you choose to add — display name, handle, bio, region, team, gamer tags (Steam, Xbox, PSN, Discord), avatar, and banner.
• Content you submit. Video links you upload (from YouTube, Twitch, Streamable, Outplayed, Kick, etc.), titles, descriptions, tags, game selections, comments, votes, and reports.
• Connected streaming accounts. If you connect a Twitch, YouTube, or Kick account, we store your channel identifier and a verification timestamp so we can show when you are live. We obtain this only after you sign in to that platform and authorize the connection (OAuth). We do not store your streaming platform passwords.
• Technical information. Your IP address (used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention) and basic request metadata. We use cookies for authentication sessions and to prevent inflated view counts.

We do not knowingly collect payment information (the Service is currently free), and we do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.

• To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To display your profile, content, and live status to other users.
• To verify ownership of connected streaming accounts.
• To moderate content and enforce our Terms (including profanity / hate-speech filtering and handling reports).
• To prevent abuse, fraud, and excessive automated requests.
• To respond to your requests and communicate with you about the Service.

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

• Service providers (sub-processors): Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database/hosting of your data), and Vercel (application hosting/CDN). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.
• Streaming & game platforms: When you connect an account or we display live data, we communicate with Twitch, YouTube/Google, and Kick. When you upload a clip, the embedded video is served by the originating platform (e.g. YouTube, Twitch, Streamable, Outplayed). Game metadata and cover art come from IGDB. Your use of those embeds is also subject to those platforms' privacy policies.
• Public content: Your profile, uploads, comments, and live status are visible to anyone who visits the Service. Do not post anything you want to keep private.
• Legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GamingVault or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

We use strictly-necessary cookies for sign-in sessions (via Clerk) and a small cookie to ensure a clip's view count isn't inflated by repeat loads. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a clip, it is removed from the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your associated personal data, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Cached or aggregate data may persist for a limited time.

• You can edit your profile and delete your content at any time in the app.
• You can disconnect any linked streaming account at any time in Settings.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or request a copy of it, by emailing gamingvidssupport@gmail.com.
• Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights such as objecting to processing or lodging a complaint with a regulator. We honor applicable rights requests.

The Service is intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information: encrypted connections (HTTPS), database row-level security, server-side handling of sensitive credentials, and OAuth-only verification of streaming accounts (we never see your platform passwords). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is hosted in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
